The Oak Crest Foundation
The Oak Crest Foundation is a group of parent volunteers, tasked with fundraising and coordinating volunteer efforts to enhance the educational experience at Oak Crest Middle School. All money raised by the Foundation stays at Oak Crest to benefit our school and we do our best to spend all money raised in that same year. Oak Crest faculty and staff can request funds through the Principal, who brings requests to the Foundation Board monthly. From PE equipment to technology to art supplies to books, we fund across the curriculum with the goal of impacting as many students as possible. Our school needs your support in order to continue to fund these requests and enrich the student experience at Oak Crest.

Foundation roles
All members of the foundation are expected to attend the fun and informative monthly meetings held in the evening at Oak Crest. Each position requires approximately 1-2 hours of commitment per month.
- Band Committee - The band liaison to the foundation. Direct line of communication.
- Communications - Gathers news from foundation and submits to Principal for the Wave Weekly Newsletter
- Hospitality Chair - Plans multiple staff potlucks and one staff appreciation day including before school set up and cleanup during or after school. Solicits parent-donated food/funds. Experience with SignupGenius.com is helpful.
- President - Leads efforts to raise and distribute funds to benefit OC staff/programs. Creates agenda and runs monthly Oak Crest Foundation meetings. Represents the Foundation at select campus events (Parent Wave Camp, Back To School). Occasional meetings with district PTA/Foundation presidents. Assists in coordination of parent education events. Attends district site council meetings.
- Recording Secretary - Attends monthly Oak Crest Foundation meetings, maintains accurate and concise minutes.
- Treasurer - Receives and deposits donations, reconciles bank statements in Quicken, writes checks for grant requests, prepares reports and statements for CPA to file taxes, and prepares reports for Ways and Means to send thank you messages to parents.
- Auditor - Audits the books and financial records of the Foundation to determine their accuracy, and presents a written report on the audits to the board for adoption.
- Volunteer Coordinator - Coordinates volunteers for planned events
- Ways & Means - Responsible for sending receipts for donations to the Foundation that can be used for tax records
- Website Manager - Update website with events and grants funded monthly. Update a few words at the start of the school year. Modest experience with Weebly helpful.
